THE ORIGIN OF PORGESA
PORGESA is a firm of recognised prestige nationwide in the artistic and decorative lighting sector. Our story begins in 1987, in Puente Genil, when D. José Muñoz Barrera and Dña. María Antonia Pérez Torres decided to launch this family project with enthusiasm, effort and perseverance.
D. José Muñoz Barrera drove the birth of the company by developing and patenting an innovative lamp holder, designed to improve safety and reliability in the sector, giving rise to PORGESA S.A., Portalámparas del Genil Sociedad Anónima.
From our beginnings, we have focused our activity on the design, manufacture and sale of artistic lighting elements, a line of work that defined our identity and laid the foundations of our history.
NEW WAYS OF REACHING THE CUSTOMER
In 1993, we expanded our activity by incorporating, on a rental basis, the installation of artistic lighting, adapting to the new needs of the market and offering more flexible solutions for our customers.
GROWTH AND DIVERSIFICATION
Over the years, founders and their children drove the growth and strengthening of the company through new products, markets and business lines, thereby expanding our catalogue of solutions.
From 2013 onwards, we incorporated two new business lines: energy efficiency and Deckoro. The first responded to the evolution of the sector and the search for more efficient solutions; the second was born as a line specialising in the design and manufacture of corporate image, signage and decoration solutions.
CORPORATE REORGANISATION
The growth and diversification experienced by the company made a new organisation necessary, one that would allow the different business lines to be structured and the future to be prepared with greater clarity.
In 2021, the founders decided to launch a new strategic plan aimed at guaranteeing the continuity of the family legacy, reinforcing the specialisation of each area and consolidating a business structure prepared for a new stage.
A NEW STAGE, THE SAME LEGACY
In 2024 this reorganisation process was completed, giving way to a new stage in which D. Andrés Muñoz Pérez stepped down as director and shareholder of the company PORGESA, S.A. and became the Director and sole shareholder of the company PORGESA ILUMINACIÓN, S.L.
Within this structure, we have taken on the continuity of the company's original model, based on the design, manufacture and sale of artistic lighting elements, together with Deckoro, our line specialising in corporate image, signage and decoration solutions.
OUR PRESENT, OUR ESSENCE
Today, the story that began in 1987 continues through Porgesa Iluminación S.L. We continue to preserve the roots, the structure and the experience accumulated over almost four decades, as well as the essence of the original project: turning ideas into light.
From our original location and with the same team of people, we continue a way of working based on in-house manufacturing, customisation and technical quality. Work that is born in Puente Genil and continues to grow across the national territory and in international markets.
With our sights set on the future, we continue to grow in the sector, committing to innovation and driving it forward without losing our roots.
